Senior Administrative Assistant (Santa Fe)

This position is responsible for:
  • Administrative support for Community, Business and Rural Development team, who work remotely throughout the state, ensuring they have the necessary equipment and tools, including vehicles, computer equipment and office supplies
  • Managing division calendars, coordinating meetings and other logistics
  • Managing, processing and tracking all travel for Economic Development (ED) Division
  • Maintaining comprehensive data and tracking for division programs utilizing various computer programs and platforms
  • Supporting team leaders, including contract and grants management and tracking and procurement
  • Purchasing and records management/tracking, including processing purchase requisitions, tracking purchase orders and processing invoices and managing P-card account
  • Fleet maintenance including WEX cards, vehicle servicing and annual inspections, mileage logs and vehicle assignments

    The ideal candidate has:
    1. Strong organizational and customer service skills
    2. Strong written and verbal communication
    3. Experience with fleet maintenance

    Economic Development Coordinator – aka Regional Rep (Santa Fe)

    The team of regional reps works within their region on initiatives aimed at promoting economic opportunities, improving infrastructure and supporting rural development projects that create lasting impact across New Mexico. This position supports Los Alamos, Rio Arriba, Santa Fe and Taos Counties and must reside in one of those counties.
    This position is responsible for:
    • Facilitate local business growth in local communities by leveraging various funding sources
    • Provide customer service and technical assistance to local businesses, community and tribal stakeholders
    • Assist in the implementation of plans to support business expansion, retention and start-up projects
    •  Collaborate and build relationships with community stakeholders to respond to growth
    • Supporting team leaders, including contract and grants management and tracking and procurement
    • Provide financial, incentive and legislative analyses as they pertain to local economies.
    • Serve as liaison between community and tribal stakeholders and state and federal agencies
      The ideal candidate has the following skills:
      1. Customer service with strong verbal and written communication
      2. Navigating resources to include multiple funding sources that may include local, tribal, state, and federal grants, financing and access to capital for businesses
      3. Goal- and detail-oriented, ability to work independently and manage time effectively
      4. Community, tribal and business development outreach through BRE, networking with local, tribal, state and federal stakeholders, business, professional or economic development organizations
      5. Experience working with municipal and county governments and familiarity with public processes
      6. Public speaking and presentations

      Economic Development Infrastructure Program Manager (Albuquerque)

      This position provides high-level program management, supervision, and strategic support for major economic development infrastructure initiatives, including those established through 2025 legislative action. The role oversees implementation and policy research related to the Just Transition Initiative, Site Readiness Development Act (SB169), Trade Ports Development Act (HB19), and Utility Pre-Deployment (SB170). It fills a critical leadership gap in coordinating multi-agency efforts, engaging stakeholders, and managing legislative appropriations related to infrastructure development, economic diversification, and climate-aligned economic policy.
      • Oversee the administration, deployment, tracking, and reporting of multiple legislative special appropriations focused on infrastructure development, energy innovation, and economic transition
      • Provide technical assistance and manage funding programs aligned with target industries
      • Supervise up to four team members
      • Develop and implement RFP’s, contracts, and programmatic strategies for site development, infrastructure planning, and capacity building.
      • Collaborate with state agencies to coordinate on infrastructure strategy and development
        Prepare and deliver recurring legislative reports on appropriation use, program impacts, and outcomes.
      • Represent the department publicly, including at conferences and before legislative committees.
      The ideal candidate has direct experience in New Mexico state government, especially in managing Requests for Proposals (RFPs), supervising teams, and administering public funds. They understand state procurement rules, capital and infrastructure project dynamics, and legislative processes.  The candidate is skilled in stakeholder engagement, program development, and public speaking, particularly in front of legislative bodies.

      They demonstrate a commitment to long-term strategic impact and possess the foresight to build sustainable systems that last beyond their tenure.

      Familiarity with economic development, climate and energy policy, and cross-agency collaboration is essential.
      Minimum qualifications:
      • Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field of study from an accredited college or university and eight years of professional-level experience with a tactical impact directly related to the purpose of the position defined by the agency at the time of recruitment. Any combination of education from an accredited college or university in a related field and/or direct experience in this occupation totaling twelve years may substitute for the required education and experience.
      • Must maintain a driver’s license.
      • Must obtain and maintain a state of New Mexico defensive driving certificate.
