County Economic Summaries
County Economic Summaries
Each of New Mexico’s 33 counties has its own unique assets and challenges in creating jobs and growing the economy. Studying each county individually helps us understand the dynamics of the region and state.
In May of 2020, in the wake of the COVID-19 health emergency, EDNM started providing individual economic summaries for each New Mexico county. This initiative combines data from the Taxation and Revenue Department, Department of Workforce Solutions, U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, and U.S. Bureau of Economic Analysis into an all-in-one report that can assist and guide policymakers as they look to invest in sustainable economic growth.
The county economic reports are posted quarterly as the latest gross receipts tax data is made available. Gross receipts revenue directly impacts a community’s capacity to provide services and helps us to understand critical spending trends. The summaries also include employment, domestic product, and wage trend data.
