Creative Industries Partners Page

At the New Mexico Creative Industries Division, we believe collaboration drives creative economic growth. That’s why we’re proud to work hand-in-hand with leading organizations at the local, state, and national levels to amplify the impact of our programs, empower creative entrepreneurs, and cultivate inclusive economic development across New Mexico.

Meet our Partners:

Upstart Co-Lab

National Partner | Creative Economy Impact Investing

Upstart Co-Lab is our national domain partner on impact investing for the creative economy. Together, we are working to increase investment readiness, open pathways to capital and new markets for New Mexico’s artists, designers, and creative businesses, and build national understanding of the power of creative industries to deliver social and financial returns.

We’re proud to share a signed Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Upstart Co-Lab focused on:

  • Building impact investment pipelines for creative businesses in NM
  • Sharing tools, events, and resources to help creatives get investment-ready
  • Promoting inclusive access to capital and creative economic development

New Mexico MainStreet

State Partner | Downtown Revitalization & Arts and Cultural Districts

As a longtime leader in downtown revitalization, New Mexico MainStreet is a key collaborator in our efforts to integrate arts and culture into community and economic development. Through our joint Arts & Cultural District (ACD) Pilot Grant Program, we support designated districts with catalytic funding ($50K–$100K) to launch creative economy initiatives that promote place-based growth and innovation.

New Mexico Arts

State Partner | Public Support for the Arts Since 1965

New Mexico Arts brings decades of experience investing in the state’s arts infrastructure. Our collaboration supports holistic growth for creative communities through aligned strategies, joint funding opportunities, and statewide promotion of artistic innovation and economic inclusion.

Together, with NM Arts and NM MainStreet, we’re advancing policy and funding pilots that demonstrate the power of cross-agency collaboration to support New Mexico’s creative economy.

Why These Partnerships Matter

Each of these partners brings a unique lens from investment to infrastructure to arts access, and together, we’re showing what’s possible when government, funders, and the creative sector join forces. These partnerships serve small towns, rural communities, and urban centers across the state by creating replicable models that can be tailored to local strengths and identities.

“By combining state expertise with national reach and on-the-ground insight, we’re helping creative businesses in New Mexico go further, faster, and more equitably.”
— Shani Harvie, Director, NM Creative Industries Division
