Corrales – Saturday, Economic Development Cabinet Secretary Jon Barela kicked of the “Shop MainStreet” holiday campaign to encourage New Mexicans to consider shopping locally for the holidays and support small businesses. Secretary Barela was joined by Corrales MainStreet, Corrales Mayor Phil Gasteyer and local small business owners. Studies support the idea that buying local has significant economic, job and environmental benefits. Twenty-three New Mexico MainStreet communities are participating in the statewide campaign.
